Pantheon 2.0 by Monsieur Diop is a contemporary series of resin-coated collage icons that reimagines modern mythology through a playful yet reflective lens. Monsieur Diop, a French-born artist based in Mullumbimby, works across disciplines as a DJ, set designer, and visual artist, an influence that clearly shapes his layered, sample-like approach to image-making.
Blending pop culture, spiritual references, and archival imagery, each piece functions as a symbolic relic, part sacred object, part cultural remix. The works explore identity, belief systems, and the stories we choose to follow, balancing irony with reverence. Drawing from ritual, music, and collective experience, Pantheon 2.0 builds a living “parliament of figures,” where meaning is fluid and open to interpretation. Accessible in scale yet rich in symbolism, the series invites viewers to form personal connections and question what, in today’s world, we choose to worship or become.
