The Ginger Mill is a colourful shared studio at the M|Arts Precinct in Murwillumbah, home to artists Lauren Gray of Pieces of Ginger and Sophie Miller of Sophie Miller Ceramics. While their practices are distinct, both artists share a love of colour, creativity, craftsmanship, and creating work that brings joy to everyday life.

Lauren’s paintings explore nostalgia, memory, and everyday beauty through playful still life compositions, bold colour, and a retro-inspired aesthetic. Sophie creates handcrafted ceramic pieces inspired by nature, form, texture, and colour, with each piece uniquely made by hand.

Together, they have created a welcoming studio where painting and ceramics sit side by side, offering visitors the chance to explore their work, creative processes, and shared passion for handmade art.

During the LAVA Arts Festival, visitors are warmly invited to step inside The Ginger Mill and experience the vibrant creative energy of this unique shared space.
